Human Factors Consultant Job Ref: 71404 Location: Warrington, TH (Hybrid/Flexible Working) The Opportunity An established risk and safety consultancy is expanding its Human Factors (HF) team and is looking to recruit an experienced Human Factors Consultant. This role provides an opportunity to work on technically diverse and meaningful projects, primarily within the nuclear sector, with expanding work into chemical, defence, oil & gas, aviation, rail, and maritime domains. About the Team This is a collaborative and experienced team supporting major accident hazard safety projects across the UK. The team delivers tailored Human Factors solutions for high-hazard industries, with a strong focus on safety case support, design consultancy, and operator-focused analysis. Project types include: Human Factors support for design and repackaging of nuclear materials Task analysis for decommissioning and operational facilities Assessments aligned with COMAH and safety-critical environments Collaboration with Human Factors specialists in Fire, Radiological Shielding, Criticality, and Environmental disciplines Your Role You will lead or contribute to technically complex Human Factors assessments, ensuring deliverables are fit-for-purpose and support safety case development. You'll work independently and collaboratively, both in-house and at client locations. Key Responsibilities Operational claim identification and substantiation Human Factors design and integration support Safety assessment input and human error identification Application of modern Human Factors methods and good practice Requirements management, verification, and validation Resolution of operational HF issues About You Solid experience providing HF support to nuclear or high-hazard industries Degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, Industrial Design, or a related field Working toward Chartership with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) Strong technical report writing and communication skills Sound understanding of UK regulations and safety standards Eligible for UK security clearance Willing to travel to client sites What's on Offer Accredited training provider with fully certified leadership and technical programs Hybrid working options and flexibility to support work-life balance Collaborative team environment with exposure to diverse sectors Opportunities to progress and contribute to impactful safety-focused work Services advertised by Gold Group are those of an Agency and/or an Employment Business.
