Job Description

MERITUS Talent are working with one of the World's leading aerospace organisations for the recruitment of a Human Factors Engineer to join their Flintshire location on an initial 12 Month contract. The role requires someone to be onsite 5 days a week, rate is negotiable depending on experience but will be via an Umbrella. Overview An opportunity has arisen for an Human Factors to join the Manufacturing Engineering department at a major aerospace facility in Broughton. The successful candidate will form part of a small but influential ergonomics team that works closely with operations, design engineering, and health & safety across all commercial aircraft programmes. This role focuses on optimising human working conditions and improving overall system performance for both existing and new manufacturing tooling and processes. Key Responsibilities Perform ergonomic work analyses for assembly and installation activities. Provide recommendations and action plans to address ergonomic risks and improve workplace conditions. Influence product development and process design in line with design for manufacture principles. Develop and implement strategic ergonomic risk reduction plans. Anticipate potential risks and apply ergonomics theory, principles, data, and methods to optimise worker health and production efficiency. Support human factors improvement projects alongside stakeholders from quality, design, health & safety, production, and manufacturing engineering. Ensure compliance with national laws, regulations, and standards related to ergonomics and human factors. Define and support the integration of user-centred design processes within the organisation. Participate in specifications, tenders, and subcontractor management for ergonomics-related work packages. Ensure ergonomics is considered during tooling and machine design with suppliers. Monitor regulatory and scientific developments relevant to ergonomics. Collaborate with local health and safety representatives and support ergonomics initiatives across international sites. Required Skills & Experience Degree (or higher) in Ergonomics / Human Factors, delivered by an accredited CIEHF higher education body. Strong knowledge of: Physiology and work analysis. Cognitive sciences and applied psychology (workload, learning, human error). Work physiology, biomechanics, and cognition. Experience in identifying and mitigating ergonomic risk factors in industrial environments. Skilled in technical report writing, ergonomic assessment tools, and risk evaluation. Knowledge of ergonomics regulations and workplace standards. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to influence stakeholders in a technical or engineering environment
