Human Factors Engineer Location: Near Newmarket, Suffolk Hours: Monday – Friday 40 hours per week Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Duration: Permanent Benefits: 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, flexible start and finish times, company pension, staff canteen, social events. Are you passionate about medical devices that are safe, effective, and easy to use? We’re looking for a Human Factors Engineer to join a growing team in Suffolk. In this role, you’ll plan and run user studies, gather feedback from users and clinical experts, and make sure products meet global safety and usability standards. You’ll work closely with design, engineering, and project teams to put users at the heart of every decision. Who are we? Job Duties: * Prepare usability documents for regulatory submissions, making sure they meet standards like ISO 13485, IEC 62366, MDR, and FDA requirements. * Plan, run, and lead user studies, including both formative and summative evaluations. * Work with customers and clinical experts to gather user needs and valuable insights. * Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to ensure a user-centred approach throughout development. * Organise and take part in meetings with colleagues and customers. * Carry out use-related risk analyses and support the wider risk management process. * Make sure all work meets relevant quality and regulatory requirements. * Be willing to travel in the UK and overseas if needed for the project. What we are looking for: * Minimum of 2yrs experience and relevant qualifications in usability and human factors engineering. * Practical experience within medical device development field. • Strong knowledge of medical device regulations (UKCA, MDR, FDA etc.). * Experience working with relevant usability and human factors standards and guidance such as IEC 62366 and HE75. * Hands-on experience in planning and conducting user studies. * Knowledge of use risk management processes. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical writing.
