Physical Controls Human Factors Engineer - Gaydon (Hybrid) - (phone number removed) - £27.30/hr - Inside IR35 This role is ideal for someone with a background in human factors or ergonomics who can bridge the gap between user needs and technical design in an automotive context. It involves a mix of analytical, collaborative, and creative tasks to ensure vehicle controls are user-friendly and safe. The position requires both technical knowledge and effective communication to work with cross-functional teams. What You Will Do: Develop and refine Human Factors requirements for physical user controls, ensuring they align with industry standards and project goals. Analyse quality data related to user controls and utilise insights to enhance requirements and solve issues. Provide Human Factors expertise in the design and development of new physical user interfaces. Conduct Human Factors assessments, including evaluations of human error and workload, to optimise user interaction. Perform requirement testing and produce detailed reports to inform design decisions. Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Owners to integrate user controls into the overall vehicle user experience. What You Will Bring: Knowledge of ergonomics, human factors, and user interface design principles. A basic understanding of scientific theories related to user interface design. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data effectively. Excellent communication skills to convey concepts and resolve issues with stakeholders. Preferably, experience in an automotive environment and familiarity with Agile planning tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
