Humanities Teacher – Sittingbourne, Kent Start Date: September or October 2025 Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Until at least Christmas 2025 Subjects: Geography and/or History | KS3 & KS4 Are you a passionate and experienced Humanities teacher looking for a long-term opportunity this Autumn? Supply Desk are working with a welcoming secondary school in Sittingbourne that are seeking a flexible and adaptable Humanities teacher to join their team from September or October 2025. This is a full-time position teaching Geography and/or History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with full teaching responsibilities and the potential to stay beyond Christmas. The school are looking for someone who brings strong classroom management, a positive and inclusive approach, and a real enthusiasm for delivering engaging lessons that inspire learners of all abilities. What You’ll Be Doing: Teaching Geography and/or History to students in KS3 and KS4, following the National Curriculum. Delivering well-planned, engaging, and inclusive lessons that support progress and participation. Taking on full classroom responsibilities including planning, marking, assessments, and participating in school meetings when required. Contributing positively to the school environment and supporting a culture of respect, progress, and inclusivity. Working collaboratively within a supportive Humanities department. What We’re Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Geography and/or History at secondary level. Proven experience teaching across KS3 and KS4. Excellent classroom presence and behaviour management skills. A flexible, adaptable attitude – willing to support planning and curriculum delivery as needed. Strong subject knowledge and a positive, inclusive teaching style. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one. Desirable: Experience with GCSE preparation and supporting students of varying abilities, including SEND. A proactive teacher who is willing to contribute to departmental planning and potentially get involved in enrichment activities.
