This specialist school in Chaldon, Merstham is dedicated to supporting children and young people with Autism, and associated social, emotional, sensory, language, and communication challenges. The Role:
We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and empathetic Humanities Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team. You will play a crucial role in delivering a creative and adapted curriculum across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Education, tailored to meet the individual needs of our learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Collaborate closely with SEN staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to support holistic student development.
Track and report on student progress, using EHCPs and individual targets to guide planning.
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities across the school.
Take an active role in promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and self-esteem among pupils.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
Experience teaching Humanities subjects (History, Geography or RE).
A deep understanding of SEND and inclusive pedagogy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A reflective and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
Desirable:
Experience working in a specialist or alternative provision setting.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice or therapeutic education models.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
