HVAC Commissioning Engineer
Location: South of England (ideally London/South London)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)

About the Role
We're working with a well-established environmental services provider to recruit an experienced HVAC Commissioning Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone based in the London or South London area, particularly those with a background in HVAC commissioning within the water treatment or water hygiene sector.
You'll play a key role in ensuring HVAC systems are installed, commissioned, and optimised to the highest standards across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. Key Responsibilities
Commission, test, and balance HVAC systems in line with project specifications and industry standards
Carry out initial system checks, diagnostics, and fault resolution
Set up and adjust systems for maximum performance and efficiency
Perform air and water balancing (including dampers, valves, AHUs)
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors during installation and commissioning
Provide on-site technical support to clients and colleagues
Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation, codes, and regulations
Produce detailed commissioning documentation, including test results and system settings
Identify performance improvements and recommend energy-saving measures
Required Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as an HVAC Commissioning Engineer
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including chilled water, heating, ventilation, ASHP, and CHP
Competent in using commissioning tools and BMS platforms (e.g. Trend)
Relevant qualifications such as CSA Grade, NVQ Level 3 in HVAC, City & Guilds, or equivalent
Solid understanding of UK industry standards (BSRIA, CIBSE, HVCA)
Health & safety conscious, with the ability to follow safe working practices
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and manage on-site commissioning
Willingness to mentor junior engineers and support training initiatives
Desirable Skills
Experience in integrating HVAC systems with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Knowledge of all areas of HVAC and water hygiene commissioning
Familiarity with environmental compliance in HVAC-related systems
