HVAC Design Engineer – Building Services - Dublin Our client, a respected multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong and growing pipeline of commercial and mission-critical projects, is seeking a skilled HVAC Design Engineer to join its Dublin-based team. This is a permanent role offering long-term career progression, exposure to high-value developments, and a collaborative, design-led working environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary M&E team, you will play a central role in developing HVAC systems for commercial, healthcare, education, and data centre projects. This opportunity offers excellent prospects to progress toward senior or chartered engineering roles within an innovative and forward-thinking consultancy. Key Responsibilities: * Design and develop HVAC systems including ventilation, air conditioning, heating, and chilled water systems * Produce detailed design documentation such as schematics, specifications, layouts, and engineering calculations * Coordinate HVAC designs with electrical, public health, and sustainability teams for fully integrated MEP solutions * Engage with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure design compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory standards * Contribute to the development of energy-efficient, cost-effective, and low-carbon HVAC solutions * Attend site visits, perform installation reviews, and participate in technical meetings and design workshops * Assist in developing internal HVAC design standards and participate in quality assurance processes Candidate Requirements: * Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline * Minimum 3+ years’ experience in HVAC design within a consultancy or design & build environment * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Hevacomp, IES/VE or similar HVAC simulation and load calculation tools; Revit MEP experience is a strong advantage * Solid knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, IS/EN standards, and CIBSE guidelines * Strong understanding of HVAC systems and their integration within complex building environments * Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach * Interest in or progress toward Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is actively encouraged and supported What’s on Offer: * €50,000 – €60,000 depending on experience and qualifications * Hybrid, flexible working model based from a centrally located Dublin office * Structured career development pathway and chartership mentorship support * Ongoing CPD and training in advanced design technologies (e.g., BIM, energy modelling, decarbonisation) * Opportunity to contribute to landmark commercial and data centre projects across Ireland and Europe * A collaborative and inclusive culture focused on sustainability, technical innovation, and engineering excellence
