Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a facilities management team working within a large distribution centre in Gateshead.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HVAC professional to join a stable, site-based role with a leading facilities management provider. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of HVAC systems and associated building services, ensuring the site remains operational, safe, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems
Diagnose faults and complete repairs across heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment
Service, inspect, and maintain HVAC plant and associated mechanical systems
Maintain and repair AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, pumps, valves, and associated equipment
Respond to breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding to minimise disruption to site operations
Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and reports accurately
Work closely with the wider engineering team and site management to ensure service levels are maintained
Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with health & safety procedures and site requirements

Requirements

Previous experience working as an HVAC Engineer within a commercial, industrial, or FM environment
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and mechanical plant
Experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance
Ability to fault find, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficiently
Good understanding of building services and maintenance environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently on site

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services
F-Gas qualification essential
Relevant HVAC/refrigeration qualifications desirable

Package & Benefits
