Job Description
1.
Installation:
*
Fit and commission HVAC systems (e.g., boilers, heat pumps, air conditioning units, ductwork).
*
Connect electrical components, refrigerant lines, and control systems (e.g., thermostats, BMS interfaces).
2.
Maintenance:
*
Perform routine servicing (e.g., cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating motors).
*
Conduct energy efficiency audits to optimize system performance.
3.
Repairs & Troubleshooting:
*
Diagnose faults (e.g., refrigerant leaks, electrical failures, thermostat malfunctions).
*
Compliance & Safety:
4.
*
Adhere to Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 for gas appliances.
*
Follow F-Gas Regulations for handling refrigerants (e.g., R410A, R32).
*
Ensure compliance with Part L Building Regulations (energy efficiency) and BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
5.
Documentation:
*
Complete installation certificates, safety checks, and service reports.
*
Record refrigerant usage and maintain F-Gas logs.
*
Skills & Certifications
*
Mandatory Qualifications:
*
Gas Safe Register certification (for working with gas boilers and appliances).
*
F-Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079) for handling refrigerants.
*
NVQ Level 2/3 in HVAC or City & Guilds 6189 (Thermal Insulation)Before You Apply
