HVAP Data Centre Shift Manager – Slough – £65k
Company Overview:
A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experienced HVAP Data Centre Shift Manager to join their team at a flagship critical site in Slough. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of shift operations within a highly secure, mission-critical environment, with clear progression routes into senior management positions such as Power Manager or Technical Manager.
Role Overview:
As HVAP Data Centre Shift Manager, you will lead a team of shift engineers, overseeing all aspects of critical systems operation and maintenance. You will have full responsibility for HV switching schedules, operational planning, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 6 off, 4 nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 4 off.
*
Days and nights, 6:30am–6:30pm.
*
Lead and manage shift teams, ensuring operational excellence.
*
Carry out HV switching operations on a regular basis and prepare switching schedules.
*
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and statutory requirements.
*
Manage and coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks.
*
Provide guidance, coaching, and development to shift engineers.
*
Build strong client relationships, ensuring service delivery meets contractual standards.
*
Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
*
Valid HV Authorised Person (HVAP) ticket.
*
Significant experience in HV switching and writing switching schedules.
*
3–5 years’ supervisory experience, leading teams and managing critical operations.
*
Proven data centre experience – this is an essential requirement for the role.
*
Strong critical engineering background.
*
City & Guilds 18th Edition and Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent).
