About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join their growing and dynamic water team. You'll be delivering a range of flood risk and water quality modelling activities across major UK infrastructure and environmental projects. This includes working on the Welsh Water AMP8 programme and other nationally significant frameworks.
The ideal candidate will bring senior-level expertise to the team, supporting junior modellers and contributing to both technical excellence and collaborative project delivery.

With an extensive project pipeline and newly awarded frameworks, they are expanding their flood risk and hydraulic modelling capabilities to meet growing demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver flood hydraulic modelling and analysis for catchment and urban drainage systems
Use industry-standard tools such as Flood Modeller, ESTRY, and TUFLOW
Lead and support junior modellers, offering technical mentorship
Contribute to modelling reports and support business case development for FCERM projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders on large-scale design projects
Input into nature-based solution strategies and low-carbon innovation
What Our Client is Looking For:
Essential:
Degree (BSc or MSc) in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field
Strong experience with hydraulic modelling software (Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW)
Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS or QGIS)
Experience mentoring junior team members
Skilled in technical report writingDesirable:
Experience with FCERM projects and nature-based solution delivery
Experience developing business cases
Coding or digital skills (e.g. Python, FME, Excel)
Strong communication skills with experience in presenting technical findings
