They are actively seeking a keen, experienced Hydraulic Modeller, willing to take on a variety of projects alongside an established team of professionals, based near the affluent, family-friendly town of Basingstoke. Benefits for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include (but are not limited to): A highly-competitive salary (commensurate with experience) Company Pension Scheme Generous annual leave allowance Flexible/hybrid working opportunities Extensive career progression opportunities A close-knit team, within a collaborative working environment Access to a number of exciting, high-profile projects Responsibilities for the role of Hydraulic Modeller Developer include: Producing models using software packages such as Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow Authoring Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Flood Consequence Assessments, Drainage Strategies, etc. Creating Nutrient Neutrality Assessments, hydrological assessments, natural flood management, re-wilding, and wetland management projects Supporting colleagues, producing technical reports based on data that has been collated collaboratively Liaising closely with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors Required skills and experience for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include: A Degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant field Experience of working in a hydraulic modelling/flood risk role, within a UK-based consultancy Excellent working knowledge of relevant software systems, including Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow A keen interest in hydrology, including experience of having worked on hydrological projects for residential and commercial projects Demonstrable understanding of all aspects of flood risk and drainage, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Experience of working closely with a range of clients and other stakeholders Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Keen interest in data interpretation and manipulation, particularly when applied to report-writing Hold a valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include: Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region A keen interest in climate change and its effects on water-based environments If you are interested in the role of Hydraulic Modeller, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
