About the business
A well-established food manufacturing business in Blackpool, which has recently undergone significant investment, is seeking a proactive Hygiene Manager to join their team. The business prides itself on maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and compliance across its operations.
The role
As the Hygiene Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the site meets strict hygiene and sanitation standards, leading a small team, and supporting compliance across all areas of production. You will work closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain a safe, clean, and compliant production environment.
Key responsibilities
* Manage and lead the site hygiene team, ensuring all cleaning schedules and processes are delivered effectively.
* Conduct regular hygiene inspections and audits to maintain compliance with internal and external standards.
* Implement and monitor hygiene policies, procedures, and training programs across the site.
* Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards, including GMP, HACCP, and BRC.
* Oversee pest control programs; experience in pest control is highly advantageous.
* Maintain accurate records and reporting on hygiene activities and compliance.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in a hygiene management role within a food manufacturing environment.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent knowledge of hygiene, cleaning standards, GMP, HACCP, and BRC.
* Experience in pest control is desirable.
* Highly organised with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
