Night Shift Hygiene Manager - FMCG Manufacturing (Food Industry)
Hours: Monday-Thursday 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, Friday 11:00 PM-9:00 AM
Are you an experienced hygiene professional with a passion for leadership and continuous improvement? We're seeking a proactive and skilled Hygiene Manager to manage and develop a high-performing hygiene team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Role Overview:
You'll be responsible for leading hygiene operations across night shifts, ensuring the site meets rigorous standards for cleanliness, safety, and compliance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll drive quality improvements and maintain best-in-class hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Hygiene Operatives to deliver scheduled cleaning activities
Ensure compliance with BRC, customer, and legal hygiene standards
Support engineering and production teams during maintenance and post-cleaning setups
Oversee contracts for cleaning chemicals, laundry, pest control, and related services
Develop and implement hygiene policies and SOPs in collaboration with suppliers
Drive continuous improvement in hygiene procedures and equipment
Train and develop team members to enhance flexibility and skillsets
Maintain strong communication across shifts and departments
Prepare documentation for audits and customer visits
Ensure adherence to Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems
Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Management or Manufacturing Operations
Experience in FMCG, ideally food manufacturing
Level 3 Food Safety, IOSH Managing Safely, COSHH, HACCP
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team development abilities
Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills
Proven performance management experience
Customer-focused, flexible, and solutions-oriented
