* Position: Teacher of the Deaf (ICT) – Secondary Department
* Contract Type: Full-time | Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (depending on experience)
Teacher of the Deaf (ICT)
Hearing Impaired School, a specialist setting for hearing-impaired students in Muswell Hill, is seeking a qualified and passionate Teacher of the Deaf with a specialist in ICT to join our dedicated Secondary Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of deaf and hearing-impaired students through creative, inclusive, and accessible ICT teaching.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, differentiated ICT lessons to deaf and hearing-impaired pupils in the Secondary Department
* Occasionally provide ICT teaching support to the Primary Department
* Plan, assess, and evaluate learning effectively to meet National Curriculum and school standards
* Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school
* Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and supervise support staff
* Create an inclusive learning environment that ensures access to communication and promotes pupil engagement and progress
* Play a key role in safeguarding, pastoral support, and student welfare
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Mandatory Qualification for Teachers of the Deaf (or willingness to complete)
* Experience teaching ICT at secondary level
* A commitment to inclusive education and differentiated learning
* Strong understanding of deaf education, BSL, and/or other communication strategies
* Excellent classroom management skills and ability to work as part of a collaborative team
* A passion for supporting deaf learners to achieve their full potential
