Job Description

Apricus Resourcing are working with a local council authority who are looking for a Domestic Abuse specialist practitioner for an ongoing contract position based in the B6 area of Birmingham. As an IDVA you will work within an MDT that provides first class care/support to victims of domestic violence. The service aim to engage with victims to offer support, address needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. Within your role you will be working with external agencies, case managers and fellow IDVA’s to review and develop safety plans. The manager is looking for compassionate candidates who are passionate about supporting vulnerable adults. Within your role you will lead on the specialist domestic abuse delivery within the assigned District. This includes developing and managing the provision of specialist work. Holding a small caseload of families with complex needs. Planning and delivering a rolling programme group work. Develop and deliver domestic abuse training to colleagues. Attend high risk multi-agency meetings on behalf of the Trust. Key responsibilities: * Having Lead Practitioner responsibility for domestic abuse developmental work and provision within the assigned District. * Working with other Domestic Abuse Specialist Practitioners across the Trust to develop group work programmes. * Leading on fulfilling statutory responsibilities. Taking appropriate actions to promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of children/ young people and their families. * Ensuring the well-being and safety of the children/young people is paramount. This will be through analysing all necessary information to complete assessments that comply with statutory requirements * Implementing, monitoring and reviewing interventions within multi-agency settings in order to ensure that the needs of the children/young people and families are met through specialist advise, support and direct work. The role available is based on a rolling contract basis that’s paying £27.76 per hour. This is a hybrid role, you will need to be available for families and to meet with fellow staff members so you’ll be in the office/working out in the community for most of the time but there will be an element of home working. In order to be considered for the post you will need a proven track record within DA roles. You will need to be a trained IDVA practitioner and have at least L3 in Domestic Abuse training, you will also need to be trained and competent in delivery of domestic abuse group work.
