Import Operations Coordinator - Maldon - £30,000 per annum - Permanent
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Our client, a leading player in the logistics and freight forwarding sector, is seeking an experienced Import Operations Coordinator to join their dynamic team due to expansion. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with solid import operations experience who thrives in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage import operations across FCL, LCL, and Groupage shipments.
* Develop and issue timely arrival notices to brokers and consignees.
* Collate and prepare documentation to assist customers with customs clearance, liaising with third-party clearance agents where required.
* Monitor and track container movements to ensure on time delivery and avoid unnecessary storage charges.
* Arrange deliveries, raise delivery orders, and manage shipment releases where customers arrange their own collection.
* Ensure compliance with financial procedures, including correct billing, expense allocation, and release protocols.
* Handle a dedicated trade lane from start to finish, including vessel tracking, unpack monitoring, billing, and accurate cost entry.
* Respond promptly and professionally to customer calls and emails within agreed service standards.
* Maintain accurate and timely communication with customers, overseas agents, and internal teams.
Additional Duties:
* Provide cover for colleagues during absences.
* Support management with ad hoc tasks and projects.
* Proactively communicate any deviations in shipments to relevant stakeholders.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Proven import operations experience (FCL, LCL, Groupage).
* Strong organisational and communication skills with confidence handling customers by telephone and email.
* Knowledge of CNS systems (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to manage end to end shipment processes with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Professional, proactive, and customer focused approach.
