Job Summary:
Would you like to work for a dynamic logistics provider that has a 150-year history that offers supply chain solutions from multi modal forwarding, warehousing and fulfilment services across the globe?
Join this fun but busy team in their Felixstowe office working as an Import Operator.
As an Import Operator, you will play a key role in managing the import processes, including coordinating shipments, liaising with customers, hauliers, and carriers, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role involves handling bills of lading, understanding INCO Terms, and supporting invoicing processes. No customs clearance knowledge is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Job Loading & Coordination: Handle the loading of jobs, ensuring correct paperwork and communication with hauliers, carriers, and customers.
* Customer & Haulier Liaison: Serve as the point of contact for customers and hauliers, maintaining smooth communication to ensure timely deliveries and issue resolution.
* Bills of Lading & Documentation: Manage and process bills of lading, ensuring all documentation is accurate and in compliance with shipping and delivery standards.
* Invoicing & Admin: Process and prepare invoices, ensuring all job details are correctly documented and invoiced to clients.
* INCO Terms Management: Ensure correct usage of INCO Terms when managing shipping arrangements and contracts.
* System Usage: Utilize the Destin8, CNS, Excel, and Teams systems to monitor job progress, update client information, and communicate internally. FCL Forward Office knowledge would be a bonus.
* Operational Support: Assist with any additional administrative tasks within the logistics team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a logistics, shipping, or operations role.
* Knowledge of Shipping Documents: Familiarity with bills of lading, INCO Terms, and other logistics documentation.
* Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with Destin8, CNS, Excel, and Teams. Experience with FCL Forward Office is a bonus.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with customers, hauliers, and internal teamsBefore You Apply
