Job Description
Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Immingham based client for an Import Operator on a permanent basis. Join a dedicated Import Team and play a key role in delivering seamless cargo operations and exceptional service to global customers.
Shift/salary:
* Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 17:00 (with a 1-hour lunch break)
* One Saturday shift, with the preceding Monday off
* Coverage for vessel operations during one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
* Additional payment for weekend coverage
* Salary starting from £26,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)

The role:
* Creating and managing electronic customer files using Boltrics/Dynamics
* Preparing customs entries via Descartes, Destin8, CDS, and IPAFFS
* Coordinating with local authorities and generating discharge lists through internal systems/EDI
* Organising cargo delivery with third-party hauliers
* Communicating with customers, suppliers, and international offices
* Handling supplier invoices and preparing quotations
* Involvement in vessel operations, supporting port-side logistics and coordination
The candidate:
We are seeking a motivated individual who:
* Has experience in import operations or a related field
* Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Is detail-oriented and highly organized
* Can work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
* Is proficient in using relevant software systems (e.g., Boltrics/Dynamics, Descartes) - preferred not essential
