Job Description

My client is recruiting for a Conveyancer to join their finance company in Manchester or London and to assist in building and managing a team. This role offers the chance to step away from traditional practice and join a dynamic, innovative environment where conveyancing underpins a modern approach to secured lending. This is a fantastic opportunity for a conveyancing professional seeking to gain broader commercial exposure, take ownership of processes, and help shape the future of how conveyancing is delivered within a fast-moving, tech-enabled business. The role You will be responsible for managing the legal aspects of secured lending transactions, while working closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Responsibilities include: • Building and developing the in-house conveyancing process, guiding automation of title checks and related procedures. • Managing all legal elements of secured lending transactions, including title reviews, registrations, redemptions, and discharges. • Handling timely and accurate registrations of property and legal charges with HM Land Registry. • Overseeing post-completion processes, including removal of mortgages/legal charges post-redemption and liaising with lenders on settlements. • Acting as a commercial advisor to the wider business, simplifying complex legal issues and providing practical solutions. • Recruiting, leading, and developing a small team of paralegals/junior conveyancers as in-house capabilities expand. About you: • A qualified and Licensed Conveyancer (or Solicitor) with hands-on conveyancing experience working with mortgage lenders. • Confident in Land Registry processes and secured lending requirements. • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to identify and manage risk. • Commercially minded, able to translate complex legal issues into clear, business-focused advice. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile, and technology-driven environment. • Prior in-house experience is helpful, but not essential. Benefits • Discretionary bi-annual bonus. • 25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays. • Flexible / hybrid working with “work from anywhere” allowance. • Growth shares and benefits platform with tailored perks. • Learning & development budget. • Pension contribution, cycle-to-work scheme, mental health support, and workplace nursery benefit. • Monthly team socials and volunteering allowance. Should you have any questions or wish to apply please do not hesitate to contact Clear Legal and Financial Recruitment. Please Note: Due to the number of applications we receive we may be unable to respond to every application directly. If you have not heard from us within 3 working days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful
