Your New Role
This is a great opportunity for a junior solicitor looking to move in-house or build upon existing in-house experience. Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, gaining hands-on exposure to a broad range of commercial, corporate and strategic matters. You'll be part of a growing legal team, supported by external counsel and legal technology tools, with plenty of scope to develop your responsibilities as the business grows.
You'll be responsible for:
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including equipment supply and installation agreements
Supporting the sales, procurement and operations teams with day-to-day legal advice
Assisting with dispute management and regulatory compliance matters
Contributing to ESG and sustainability initiatives, including the company's BCorp accreditation journey
Working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and General Counsel on a variety of legal and commercial projects across the business
What You'll Need to Succeed
1-5 years' PQE, ideally gained in projects and/or construction
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and project agreements, including high-value contracts
Strong technical skills combined with a practical, commercial approach
Comfortable building relationships with stakeholders across a business
A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work in a fast-paced environment
Based in or within a commutable distance of Bristol, with flexibility for hybrid working
Previous in-house experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Equally, solar sector experience is not required. The business is keen to hear from ambitious lawyers who are looking to develop their projects/commercial skillset and build a long-term career in-house.
What You'll Get in Return
Competitive salary
Discretionary performance bonus (15% paid last year)
Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
ESG-focused benefits, including an EV car scheme and volunteering days
Significant career development opportunities within a rapidly growing business
Exposure to senior leadership and high-profile commercial projects
A supportive and collaborative culture where you can genuinely make an impact
