Central Recruitment are a recruitment agency hiring on behalf of a client.
Hours of Work: Rotating weekly shifts, 06:00 – 14:00 & 14:00 – 22:00
Reports to: Inbound Team Leader
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Warehouse Operative to join a fast-paced logistics and distribution environment. The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring that all inbound goods are processed accurately, safely, and efficiently in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in accordance with established operational processes and company guidelines.
* Verify physical stock received against delivery documentation to ensure accuracy in quantity and description.
* Conduct stock checks at the appropriate level — for example, 100% checks on outer cartons and random sampling of contents where required.
* Carry out full content checks for high-value or specific deliveries.
* Follow all inbound and stock-handling procedures accurately.
* Repalletise stock as needed for appropriate warehouse storage and racking.
* Report any delivery or stock discrepancies through the proper channels.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across all work areas, ensuring they remain clean, organized, and free from obstruction.
* Support additional warehouse or operational tasks as required to help the business deliver excellent service.
Skills and Experience
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and conscientious work ethic.
* Literacy and numeracy skills appropriate for stock handling and documentation.
* Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and standard PC applications.
* Valid MHE (Material Handling Equipment) license preferred but not essential.
* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
* Basic understanding of Health and Safety in a warehouse environment.
* Practical, common-sense approach with a focus on quality and accuracy.
