Progress Teachers are looking to appoint a committed and compassionate Inclusion Mentor to join our team and support young people within Alternative Provision in Nottingham.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, tailored support to students with varying SEMH, SEND and behavioural needs through 1:1 and small-group mentoring. They will also support with the on-call behaviour system and liaise effectively with families and colleagues to provide the best support possible for all pupils and enable them to thrive both personally and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Pastoral & Inclusion Support
Supervise pupils on modified timetables or excluded from mainstream classes.
Deliver targeted support for pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health development.
Lead 1:1 mentoring and small group interventions to improve engagement and outcomes.
Implement and monitor individual behaviour and support plans.
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and parents/carers to encourage attendance, engagement, and academic progress.
Monitor attendance and behavioural trends, implementing timely interventions as needed.
Teaching and Learning Support
Liaise with feeder schools and external agencies to ensure smooth pupil transitions.
Work closely with teaching staff to support pupils in accessing the curriculum using inclusive strategies.
Track and report pupil progress, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
Deliver and model agreed learning and behaviour strategies based on individual needs.
Wider School Engagement
Champion the school’s inclusive ethos and uphold the Trust’s safeguarding policies and standards.
Attend relevant meetings and CPD sessions to support ongoing professional growth.
Support and participate in out-of-school learning and enrichment activities to further inclusion across the school.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience working with young people in an educational, inclusion, or pastoral capacity.
Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills.
Excellent communication skills when working with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage a dynamic workload
