Inclusion Support Practitioner - Secondary School Location: Northampton Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement Salary: Competitive (based on experience) Do you believe every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and included in their education? Several inclusive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Northampton are looking to appoint Inclusion Support Practitioners from September 2025. These schools work with a diverse student population, including pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and those at risk of disengagement or exclusion. This is a high-impact, student-facing role-ideal for someone passionate about inclusion, resilience, and restoring confidence in learners who face barriers to education. Your Role Will Include: Working 1:1 or in small groups to support students with additional needs or challenging behaviour Implementing tailored interventions focused on emotional regulation, social development, and engagement Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who require extra support Collaborating closely with SENDCos, pastoral staff, and external professionals Helping maintain an inclusive, respectful, and calm learning environment Acting as a trusted adult and advocate for students navigating complex personal or educational challenges We're Looking For Someone Who: Has a calm, empathetic, and trauma-informed approach to behaviour Is committed to inclusion and understands the importance of stability and routine Has experience supporting young people in education, care, youth work, or similar settings Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, or those at risk of exclusion Can work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one) What You'll Gain: A long-term, full-time position with the potential to go permanent The opportunity to build lasting relationships and make a measurable difference Weekly pay with competitive rates Access to over 2,500 accredited CPD courses through The National College, including trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, and mental health in schools Ongoing support from an experienced team of education consultants who understand your role This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to transition into specialist education, mental health support, or therapeutic roles in schools.
