Job Description
Are you a skilled and experienced practitioner with a passion for safeguarding children?
Tameside is seeking a full-time Conference Chair to lead Child Protection Initial and Review Conferences. This is a vital statutory role where your expertise and independence will help drive forward best practice and ensure the safety and well being of vulnerable children.

Responsibilities:
Chair Child Protection Initial and Review Conferences within statutory timescales
Maintain professional independence from operational and line management case responsibilities
Conduct midpoint reviews to ensure progress and compliance in child protection plans
Complete Practice Review Processes to identify and challenge drift, delay, or poor practice
Provide professional input at legal gateway meetings and relevant multi-agency forums
Chair Child in Need (CIN) meetings where required
Undertake home visits to children as appropriateTo be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
To be considered for the IRO role, ideally you will have:
Significant experience chairing complex Child Protection Conferences
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
Ability to challenge and influence practice constructively
Must be local to Tameside and able to work fully office based
Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration
