Industrial Electrician – Uskmouth Sustainable Energy Park

Location: Newport, South Wales
Project: Uskmouth Sustainable Energy Park
Start Date: Monday 14th September 2026
Rate: £300 per day
Hours: 10-hour shifts
Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks
Position: 1x Industrial Electrician
Job Type: Temporary / Contract

About the Role

LGP Consultancy are currently recruiting for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join an industrial electrical installation project at Uskmouth Sustainable Energy Park in Newport.

This is a hands-on site-based position suited to an electrician with strong industrial installation experience and, ideally, previous experience working within power stations, substations, energy, BESS, utilities or other large-scale industrial environments.

The successful candidate will be joining an experienced site team and will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation works to a high standard, with a particular focus on cable glanding and termination.

Key Responsibilities

  * Glanding and terminating industrial electrical cables.

  * Working with 4-core 16mm and 4-core 2.5mm cables.

  * Carrying out electrical installation works in accordance with project requirements.

  * Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

  * Following site drawings, specifications and installation requirements.

  * Working safely within an industrial / energy environment.

  * Maintaining good housekeeping and complying with all site health & safety procedures.

  * Working as part of an established electrical team.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  * Gold JIB Electrician Card.

  * Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician.

  * Strong experience with industrial cable installation, glanding and termination.

  * Experience working with multi-core cables.

  * Previous experience on Power Station, Substation, Energy, BESS or similar industrial projects is highly desirable.

  * Good understanding of electrical installation practices.

  * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.

  * Strong commitment to health & safety.

  * Reliable and able to commit to the full duration of the project.

  * Relevant references available upon request.

Project Details

This is an initial 4–6 week contract, with the potential for further opportunities for the right electrician depending on project requirements.

The project is based at Uskmouth Sustainable Energy Park, Newport, and will involve working 10-hour shifts.
