Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join our Clients growing engineering team covering sites across Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of industrial refrigeration systems used within sectors such as food production, cold storage, manufacturing, and distribution. This role requires strong technical knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, particularly those operating with ammonia (NH₃), CO₂, and large-scale plant equipment. Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration systems. * Diagnose faults and perform system troubleshooting. * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across customer sites. * Install and commission refrigeration equipment and associated controls. * Work with refrigerants including Ammonia (NH₃), CO₂, and HFC systems. * Ensure all work complies with relevant UK safety and environmental regulations. * Complete service reports and documentation accurately. * Provide technical advice and support to customers. * Participate in on-call rota for emergency breakdown response. Required Qualifications & Experience * Proven experience working with industrial refrigeration systems. * Recognised refrigeration or engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent). * F-Gas certification (Category 1). * Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems highly desirable. * Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills. * Full UK driving licence. * Ability to work independently and manage field-based workloads. Desirable Skills * Experience working in food manufacturing or cold storage environments. * Knowledge of PLC-controlled refrigeration systems. * Ammonia safety certification (e.g., IOSH or equivalent). * CO₂ refrigeration system experience. * Health & Safety training (e.g., CSCS, IPAF, PASMA)
