Our client is looking for an experienced Industrial Relations Manager to join our team at Hinkley Point, who have secured an £84m contract providing electrical and instrumentation packages for the turbine halls at HPC.
This pivotal role is essential in fostering constructive relationships between their workforce and trade unions, promoting a collaborative and engaged working environment that reflects their company’s values and strategic goals.
As an Industrial Relations Manager you will:
* Build and sustain strong, constructive relationships with trade unions.
* Promote transparent and open communication to support mutual understanding.
* Ensure fair, consistent treatment of employees aligned with our policies and values.
* Manage employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary issues with professionalism and empathy.
* Facilitate mediation and counselling where appropriate to achieve timely, effective outcomes.
* Lead the investigation and resolution of complex or high-risk industrial relations matters.
* Monitor workforce sentiment and analyse feedback to inform policy and practice improvements.
* Drive or contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and workplace culture.
Our client requires an Industrial Relations Manager with:
* Proven experience in Industrial Relations or Employee Relations, ideally in Engineering Construction or similar sectors.
* In-depth knowledge of HR practices and policies.
* Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and collective bargaining frameworks.
* Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities, with the ability to build trust across all levels.
* Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, with a practical and solutions-oriented mindset.
* Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret workforce trends and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Salary and benefits include:
* £80,000 - £100,000 per annum
* Company vehicle or car allowance
* Hybrid working (3 days on site)
* Enhanced annual leave
