Industrialisation Manager

 Location: West Sussex
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Employment Type: Full Time

 We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Industrialisation Manager to lead the transition of innovative products from design through to full-scale production. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for defining and delivering the industrialisation strategy across a complex manufacturing environment, ensuring new products are introduced efficiently, reliably, and at scale.

 You will play a critical role in driving manufacturing readiness, process capability, and cross-functional alignment, working closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality teams.

 The role

 As Industrialisation Manager, you will take ownership of the full industrialisation lifecycle, from early design input through to stable production and continuous improvement. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and make key strategic decisions around automation, capacity, process design, and manufacturing technology to ensure the business is set up for scalable growth.

 Key responsibilities

 Industrial strategy and leadership

Define and lead the long-term industrialisation strategy aligned with business growth.
Lead cross-functional teams across Production Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, and Test Engineering.
Drive decisions around make vs buy, automation, and capacity expansion.
Establish and deliver against industrial KPIs.New product introduction

Lead NPI programmes from concept through to full production.
Ensure robust stage-gate governance and manufacturing readiness.
Champion DFM, DFA, and DFL principles across engineering teams.
Manage risks, timelines, and successful product ramp-up.Manufacturing and process excellence

Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation.
Ensure process capability, repeatability, and scalability.
Lead PFMEA, control plans, and process validation activities.
Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and advanced manufacturing techniques.Factory readiness and ramp-up

Ensure production sites are fully prepared for new product introduction.
Lead cross-functional readiness reviews.
Drive improvements in yield, cycle time, and cost during ramp-up.
Resolve complex production issues through structured problem-solving.Supplier and technology management

Oversee supplier readiness, tooling, and process capability.
Support selection of automation partners and equipment suppliers.
Ensure external partners meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.Cross-functional leadership

Act as the key interface between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.
Provide strategic input into product and technology roadmaps.
Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple teams.Team development

Build and lead a high-performing industrialisation function.
Mentor engineers and promote best practice across the organisation.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.What we’re looking for

 Experience

Extensive experience in industrialisation, NPI, or manufacturing engineering leadership.
Proven track record of delivering successful NPI programmes and production ramp-ups.
Experience within complex, multi-site manufacturing environments.
Strong background in automation, process development, and manufacturing strategy.Technical knowledge

Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including mechanical, electrical, assembly, and testing.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process capability tools.
Experience with PFMEA, control plans, and process validation.
Exposure to automation strategy and advanced manufacturing technologies.Leadership and behaviours

Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
Ability to lead through complexity and drive clarity.
