Job Description
Our local authority client based in North West London are urgently seeking an experienced Information Governance Transformation Officer.
*£32 an hour Umbrella
Role Purpose
This role will deliver a 12-month strategic roadmap to restore and strengthen the Information Governance (IG) function. The postholder will provide dedicated, temporary support to implement key improvements, while reaffirming the strategic, managerial, and leadership role of the Information Governance Manager / Data Protection Officer (DPO). The role will ensure the IG function is robust, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities.
Main Duties / Accountabilities
* Conduct audits of legacy IG documentation (e.g., DPIAs, breach logs, asset registers), identifying duplication and inefficiencies.
* Recommend and implement improved workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
* Design standardised templates and tools to support consistent IG practices.
* Liaise with departments to support implementation and training.
* Provide regular updates and insights to the IG Manager to inform strategic decisions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Role requirements
* Technical Proficiency – Demonstrated expertise in identifying, and implementing technical solutions that align with business and governance needs.
* Proven track record of designing and delivery innovative IT solutions to support transformation to meet business needs
* Understanding of relevant IG frameworks and standards
* Ability to analyse complex data sets and business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for improvement.
* Proficient in the use of MS365 applications including Power BI, Sharepoint
* Proactive mindset with a drive to innovate and deliver practical scalable solutions.
* Interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical colleagues, translating complex concepts into accessible language
