Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer

Location: Sittingbourne
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, rotating shifts - Monday to Friday 07.00-15.00 / 15.00-23.00 on a weekly rotational basis with 30 minute paid break a day (8 hours a day / 40 hours a week) We are seeking a dedicated Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer to join our clients Maintenance Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the routine, proactive, and reactive maintenance of machinery within their injection moulding manufacturing areas. The position offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on maintaining high standards of operation and safety.
Day-to-day of the Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer role:
Maintain all ancillary equipment and conveyors in the Injection Moulding and Regrind departments.
Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and develop solutions to enhance machine reliability.
Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) plan, ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Monitor equipment performance and maintain detailed maintenance records for each machine.
Organise the receipt, identification, and appropriate storage of engineering materials/spares.
Maintain a stock of essential spare parts on-site to minimize downtime caused by breakdowns.
Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used, and pass instructions between shifts.
Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal departments to improve processes and increase machine reliability and performance.
Support general site maintenance and oversee site contractors working in the Injection Moulding department.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer:
Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or HNC.
Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance team.
Knowledge of pneumatic systems and industrial automation.
Desirable: Experience in 6-axis robot programming (ABB, Staubli, KUKA) and PLC programming (Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley).
