Job Description
Experienced Coatings/Adhesives Formulation Chemist looking to further develop their career required for a well-established chemical distributor in the West Midlands.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent upon experience) + benefits

SRG are exclusively partnering with a leading speciality chemical distributor in the West Midlands, who offer a wide range of innovative raw materials to manufacturers and brands across the coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers (CASE), food & beverage and personal care markets to name but a few. With a big focus on in-house product development and manufacturing, collaboration and customer centricity, they have a well-known reputation for success in the market. They are now looking for an experienced formulation chemist in CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers) to join the business as an Innovation Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates who are looking for more autonomy and to have a massive impact on new product development and will suit candidates who enjoy being both customer and supplier facing.

Role / Description
Managing a wide range of formulation projects - both customer and supplier-focused
Identifying the USPs of a variety of supplier raw materials - including amines, epoxy resins, adhesion promoters, defoamers, curing agents etc
Formulating coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomer products
Demonstrating innovation to best showcase the raw materials in the finished formulations
Attending customer and supplier visits to provide technical expertise alongside the sales team
Travelling throughout the UK to visit customer and supplier sites
Keeping abreast of product development & trends in the CASE market.
Requirements
Direct, recent experience of formulating coatings or adhesives products, specifically for technical and bespoke applications
Experience providing technical support to customers, remotely or via on-site meetings
Degree-level qualified (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a closely related subject
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Willing, and excited, to travel across the UK to visit customer and supplier sites
Full, clean UK driving licence
A proactive approach and drive to deliver exceptional customer service.
