We are currently recruiting for an Installation Operative to join our client’s experienced installation team based in Thatcham. The successful candidate will assist in the delivery and installation of bus shelters and associated infrastructure across various UK locations. This role is hands-on, physically active, and offers the opportunity to work on projects that directly serve local communities.
Role Overview:
As an Installation Operative, you will be responsible for preparing sites, assembling structures, and installing bus shelters according to precise specifications. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions and must be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks. This role involves teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform groundworks and prepare sites for installation
* Assemble and install bus shelters and associated components to specification
* Use power tools and manual tools safely and competently
* Follow engineering drawings and instructions accurately
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools, vehicles, and work areas
* Report any issues or material shortages to supervisors
* Collaborate with installation team members to meet project deadlines
* Adhere strictly to health and safety standards, including manual handling procedures
* Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Requirements:
* Clean, full UK driving licence (essential)
* Particular experience with painting metal would be ideal
* Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting and carrying
* Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented
* Able to follow clear instructions and communicate effectively
* Willing to travel and stay overnight when required (accommodation and expenses covered)
Working Hours:
* 40+ hours per week (depending on project demands)
* Monday to Friday (some flexibility required)
* Start and finish times may vary based on site location and workload
