Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an Interim Operations Director to join Doncaster Sheffield Airport on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Interim Operations Director to play a pivotal leadership role in the mobilisation and reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA). This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a transformative phase, providing essential operational leadership during a period of significant change and opportunity.
The Role
As Interim Operations Director, you will lead the operational planning and mobilisation activities required to support aerodrome certification, airspace change processes, and infrastructure development. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient reopening and operation of the airport in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
While initially focused on the reopening process, the role may also encompass day-to-day oversight of airport operations, including security, maintenance, customer service, and emergency response.
Key Responsibilities

Lead mobilisation activities to enable the airport’s reopening and aerodrome certification.

Collaborate with regulatory bodies, airline partners, and internal teams to uphold high operational standards.
*
Support the development of operational policies, infrastructure planning, and emergency response procedures.
*
Coordinate with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and other stakeholders on inspections and audits.
*
Oversee safety and security protocols aligned with UK aviation regulations.
*
Drive continuous improvement and innovation across operational areas.
*
Contribute to strategic initiatives including route development, sustainability, and community engagement.
About You
We are looking for a proactive, resilient leader with a passion for operational excellence and a deep understanding of the UK aviation sector. You will bring:

Proven experience in airport operations or aerodrome management, ideally within a UK airport environment.
*
In-depth knowledge of CAA regulations, certification processes, and safety standards.
*
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
*
Experience in infrastructure, capital projects, or airport redevelopment is desirable.
*
A hands-on, innovative approach with the ability to work under pressure and manage complex change.
