Spencer Clarke Group is seeking an experienced Interim Consultant Neuropsychiatrist to join a specialist rehabilitation service supporting individuals with complex neuropsychiatric needs. This is a flexible locum opportunity with a negotiable rate, ideal for a Consultant looking to make a meaningful impact within an innovative multi-disciplinary setting.
The Role
You will take a senior clinical leadership role in a specialist hospital providing care and rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injury and related conditions. The service operates within a recovery-oriented, bio-psycho-social framework - focusing on helping people build coping strategies, adjust to life after brain injury, and achieve their personal goals.
As Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, you will:
Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act, overseeing psychiatric care and treatment plans.
Lead on stabilisation and complex case management, including rationalising medication regimens and managing challenging or unstable presentations.
Guide and support a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, ensuring integration of psychiatric input within the neurobehavioural rehabilitation model.
Provide specialist advice on neuropsychiatric care pathways, service delivery, and best practice.
Oversee clinical governance activities, including audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
Foster positive relationships with families, carers, external agencies, and partner services.
Support training and professional development of staff, contributing to a culture of learning and excellence.About You
GMC registered with a licence to practise and included on the GMC Specialist Register (Psychiatry).
Section 12 approved and holds Approved Clinician status under the Mental Health Act.
Experienced in neuropsychiatry, brain injury rehabilitation, or complex mental health care.
A strong clinical leader, with the ability to inspire and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
Committed to compassionate, person-centred care, and able to manage complexity and uncertainty.
