Job Description

Blair West are supporting a well-established and growing organisation based in Newcastle with the recruitment of an Interim Management Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring smooth day-to-day finance operations during a period of transition and growth. The opportunity: * Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cashflow. * Budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing timely and accurate financial insights. * Deliver detailed financial analysis and management information to support strategic decisions. * Oversee P&L, ensuring accurate cost allocation and variance analysis. * Manage and develop an Assistant Management Accountant to strengthen team capability. * Partner with senior stakeholders to support commercial and operational performance. * Ensure compliance with statutory requirements * Support ongoing improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls. * Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and input into wider business initiatives. You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have: * ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or are part-qualified / equivalent). * Previous experience in a management accounting role. * Strong technical accounting knowledge and a proactive, hands-on approach. * Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions. * Experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff. * Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements. * Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. * Proficiency in modern accounting systems and Excel.
