Job Description

Interim Occupational Health Manager Location: London Duration: 3 Months (Potential for Extension) Rate: ~ £300 per day (Ltd Company or PAYE available) We've been engaged by a leading scientific research organisation to identify an Interim Occupational Health Manager to support during a period of transition. This is a key role ensuring the continuity of occupational health services, with a focus on provider management, stakeholder engagement, and maintaining essential health programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal role where you'll work closely with leadership, the People team, and external partners, making sure the occupational health function runs seamlessly during handover and beyond. Responsibilities will include: Acting as the primary liaison with the external occupational health provider, ensuring delivery against KPIs and SLAs Overseeing health surveillance programmes and statutory requirements (e.g. COSHH, respiratory health, noise) Managing occupational health contracts and leading on integration with internal processes Coordinating vaccination programmes (flu, COVID) and ensuring continuity of referrals and case management Advising on workplace adjustments and supporting staff with health conditions in partnership with HR and EDI teams Providing occupational health data, insights, and reports to senior stakeholders Working with the Health & Safety and Wellbeing teams on preventative health initiatives and workplace risk managementThe successful candidate will have: Significant experience in occupational health management, including managing outsourced providers Strong knowledge of UK occupational health legislation and workplace health risks Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across HR, H&S, and operational teams Proven ability to manage contracts, providers, and ensure service continuity in complex organisations A flexible, proactive, and collaborative approachThis is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact in a world-leading research environment.
