Job Description

I am urgently seeking an Interim Recruitment Officer / TA Specialist for a 3 month period to work for a Higher Education organisation in East London. This role will pay a rate of £245 to £260 per day through an umbrella company and will be hybrid working with 2 to 3 days per week on site and the remainder remote. Reporting to the AD People & Culture Talent Acquisition, the ideal candidate will be available to start immediately or within a weeks' notice and will lead full-cycle recruitment activities for positions across the professional and academic functions, develop innovative and effective recruitment strategies, identify and connect with top talent ensuring compliance through the recruitment process. Through collaborating with directors, senior leadership, and managers across the organisation, you will ensure an excellent business partnering and candidate experience Candidates will be expected to have the following experience, knowledge and skills: - Be responsible for leading full life cycle recruitment activities which includes, (but not limited to) conducting detailed role briefs with hiring managers, recommending and evaluating recruitment strategies for effectiveness, guiding hiring managers and candidates throughout the interview process, negotiating offers, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires. Knowledge and experience of dealing with VISAs and Certificate of Sponsorship in relation to recruitment. Define, design and deliver candidate attraction and sourcing strategies, focusing on direct sourcing and leveraging the University networks to attract and hire the best talent as well as generating candidate pools and pipelines. Manage the internal applicant process as well as the employee referral process to ensure a consistent and positive experience, including screening inbound applications, considering suitability across multiple roles as well as alignment to the University Values. Plan/attend recruitment events; including Job Fairs, Careers Fairs, open offices etc. Manage the recruitment workload, including creating candidate shortlists, creating engaging adverts for roles and publishing across all platforms, scheduling interviews and other recruitment related activities. Work collaboratively with the Employee Experience & Development teams to ensure a first-class onboarding and induction process, supporting the high-performance matrix and succession plans, as well as supporting any redeployment activities. Coach hiring managers on the intricacies of interviewing to gain specific insights and conduct debrief with candidates and hiring managers.Essential Skills include: - Thorough understanding of recruitment processes and strategies; solid understanding of the employment marketplace and trends in recruiting strategies. Previous experience of direct sourcing and full life cycle recruiting. Proficient in the use of CV databases and LinkedIn for sourcing. Tenacious, resilient and delivery focused. Strong business partnering skills. Able to manage conflict effectively. Creative and an idea generator. Strong influencing & negotiating skills. Able to communicate effectively at all levels and deal with issues associated with the evaluation process and outcomes. Able to organise, plan and prioritise effectively, to set objectives and meet deadlines, and to work with minimal supervision.
