The Opportunity
Due to growth, they're now looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their design & engineering team. You'll be mentored by a Chartered Electrical Associate and supported through two weekly technical development sessions. This is an ideal role for someone with around a year of experience looking to sharpen their design skills in a fully remote, forward-thinking team.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll support the design and coordination of electrical systems across a variety of building projects. Typical responsibilities include:
Lighting Design - Layouts, calculations, specs, and energy compliance
Small Power Distribution - Socket layouts, DB schedules, coordination
Fire Alarm Systems - Zoning, schematics, supplier coordination
CCTV & Security Systems - Camera layouts, coverage, consultant coordination
Emergency Lighting - Designs to BS 5266 and other relevant standards
Load Calculations & Cable Sizing - Electrical assessments, cable sizing
MEP Coordination - Working with mechanical and PH teams, clash detection in BIM/Revit
Technical Documentation - Drawings, specs, reports, tender packs
Regulatory Compliance - BS7671, CIBSE guides, Part L
Project Support - Attending meetings (virtually or in-person where needed)Essential Requirements
Must be a resident of the UK
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
Minimum of two years' experience in electrical design, within building services consultancy or multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy
Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards
Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD/Revit and Amtech or Electrical OM.
