Role - Intermediate Fire Engineer
Location - Manchester
Salary - up to £40,000
An established and growing consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Fire Engineer to join their team in Manchester. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of projects across the UK, with a strong focus on design and consultancy rather than installation or maintenance.
The successful candidate will join a national Fire Engineering practice of around 30 engineers, with growth plans for the Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a few years of experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and further develop their technical expertise.
The Role
The Fire Engineer will:
Develop fire strategies for projects across sectors such as defence, nuclear, transport, energy, and residential.
Contribute to fire and smoke modelling (CFD), performance-based design, and safety compliance.
Support projects from early design through to delivery.
Conduct fire risk assessments, technical reporting, and site visits.
Collaborate with colleagues across the UK, contributing to technical development within the team.
Requirements
Degree in engineering (preferably fire engineering) or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.
2-5 years' experience in a fire design/consultancy role.
Familiarity with fire safety standards (e.g. BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545).
CFD/fire modelling experience desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
UK nationality (SC Clearance eligibility advantageous).
