Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - (Construction)
Location - Cork
Job Type - 2-Year Fixed Term Contract
Salary - (€50k - €75k)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team in Cork on a 2-year fixed term contract. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and commercially focused QS looking to expand their experience on a range of high-quality residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the successful commercial management of construction activities. Responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the management of subcontractor packages and processing payments to subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
Supporting the preparation of monthly valuations and cost reports
Monitoring and reporting on budgets, costs, and project variations
Maintaining accurate subcontractor and supplier contractual records
Gaining progressive responsibility aligned with your professional development
Ideal Candidate Profile
3-5 years post-graduate experience in a PQS firm or contractor environment
Working knowledge or exposure to residential, RC frame, apartment, or commercial projects (preferred but not essential)
Strong proficiency with cost software such as Cubit, CostX, or similar, plus Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Detail-focused and methodical, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Self-motivated with the initiative to work independently or as part of a team
Eagerness to engage in training and continual professional development
Ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through to completion
