Job Description

FM Internal Account Manager – Manchester Salary: £30,000–£33,000 per annum Location: Manchester Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8-hour shift We are working with a well-established and growing business in the specialist cleaning and waste sector, currently looking to appoint an experienced Internal Account Manager to support the national contracts team from their Manchester office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic company at an exciting stage of expansion. The role will focus on account retention and growth, working closely with the helpdesk, field-based account managers, and operations teams to ensure high levels of service delivery across a wide portfolio. What’s on offer: * £30,000–£33,000 base salary * 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays) * Enhanced company pension * Life assurance * Company sick pay * Medical health cash plan * Access to employee benefits platform including wellbeing support * Structured training and development Key Responsibilities: * Manage a portfolio of national clients, maintaining strong relationships via phone and email * Act as the first point of contact for service queries, resolving issues in coordination with internal teams * Identify and capitalise on opportunities to grow account value and reduce potential revenue losses * Collaborate with multiple departments including sales, operations, finance, and health & safety to ensure a seamless service offering * Keep accurate records and activity logs using internal CRM/job management software (e.g., Jobwatch) * Monitor and manage client data through customer portals, flagging trends and coordinating internal action * Support internal and external meetings with relevant reporting and market insights * Track service performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs * Assist with credit control by liaising with finance to ensure timely invoice payments * Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and relevant legislation Ideal Candidate Profile: * Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial or operational FM role * Confident handling both proactive and reactive client communications * Experienced in account management, issue resolution, and delivering customer satisfaction * Background in cleaning or waste management is desirable but not essential * Excellent organisational and multitasking skills * Comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment * Collaborative team player with a customer-first mindset * Competent using CRM and reporting tools * Professional telephone manner and ability to handle complaints diplomatically This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with FM or soft services experience who thrives in a customer-focused, commercially aware environment and enjoys working as part of a team to deliver exceptional service.
