Job Title: Internal Auditor – Food Safety & Quality
Location: On-site, Leicester
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Pay: Up to £35,000 per year
Contract Type: Permanent

Frontline Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Internal Auditor to join a well-established food manufacturing business. This role ensures the site’s Quality Management System remains compliant with food safety, legal, and BRCGS standards through structured auditing, monitoring, and verification activities.

Key Responsibilities

  * Conduct internal audits across all areas of the business to ensure compliance with BRCGS, legal, and customer standards

  * Audit Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and Works Orders documentation to confirm CCPs are completed accurately and signed off

  * Verify HACCP procedures are correctly implemented, monitored, and updated as required

  * Audit prerequisite programmes, including pest control, glass & plastic control, allergen management, and metal detection systems

  * Lead and document traceability exercises and annual mock recall testing

  * Support preparation for external BRCGS audits and maintain audit readiness at all times

Documentation & Due Diligence

  * Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation and document control systems

  * Ensure supplier approval documentation meets legal and BRCGS requirements

  * Record audit findings clearly, providing objective evidence and actionable recommendations

Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

  * Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances relating to food safety, legality, or quality standards

  * Support root cause analysis and verification of corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs)

  * Monitor complaint trends and non-conformance data to identify recurring risks
