Job Description

Job Title: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) Location: Hybrid – 3 days office-based (Worcester) Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Role Overview: We are recruiting for an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join a dynamic and forward-thinking training provider delivering vocational qualifications. This role is vital in maintaining the highest standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across a broad range of qualifications. The successful candidate will monitor and support assessors and trainers, ensuring compliance with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements while contributing to curriculum planning, standardisation, and continuous improvement across programmes. This is a hybrid position with regular onsite presence required in Worcester. Key Responsibilities: * Monitor and evaluate tutor/assessor performance to ensure quality standards are maintained and improved. * Conduct sampling of learner portfolios to ensure assessment decisions are fair, valid, consistent, and robust. * Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and CPD support to assessors and trainers. * Maintain accurate IQA documentation including sampling plans, tracking sheets, reports, and risk ratings. * Ensure full compliance with awarding bodies and regulatory standards (Ofqual, ESFA, Ofsted). * Support with preparation for external quality assurance visits and implement recommended actions. * Monitor learner progress and contribute to timely achievement and success rates. * Promote and embed safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion across all quality assurance activity. * Identify risks and recommend actions for continuous improvement. * Participate in curriculum development, schemes of work, and assessment planning. * Contribute to regular standardisation meetings and staff development sessions. * Maintain confidentiality and ensure best practice is shared across teams. * Participate in personal and professional development aligned to role requirements. Areas of Focus: The successful candidate will support quality assurance across a wide range of qualifications, including but not limited to: * Team Leader / Supervisor * Operational / Departmental Management * Business Administration * Customer Service * Facilities Management * Safety, Health & Environment * Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability * Improvement Practitioner / Technician Holding qualifications or occupational expertise in any of these areas would be a distinct advantage. Essential Criteria: * Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent) * Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent * Relevant occupational competence in at least one of the vocational areas listed * GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) * Experience supporting assessors in a training or educational setting * Experience preparing for EQA visits and implementing quality improvement actions * Strong knowledge of awarding body and regulatory requirements * Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance documentation skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider quality team Desirable Criteria: A teaching qualification (e.g. AET/PTLLS or higher) Experience using e-portfolio systems (e.g. BUD, OneFile) Experience delivering and/or quality assuring multiple vocational qualifications Sector-specific qualifications in leadership, SHE, CSR, or business support pathways
