This role is crucial to the continued success of the department. The successful candidate will be an experienced, confident individual who thrives in a busy environment and can manage a demanding customer base with professionalism and assertiveness.
While experience within the metal industry is not essential, it is highly desirable and would give candidates a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage customer accounts with professionalism, urgency, and a proactive approach
* Handle inbound enquiries, quotations, and orders
* Make outbound calls to customers to discuss order updates, product availability, and pricing
* Liaise daily with internal teams including Production, Quality, and Internal Sales to manage expectations and meet customer deadlines
* Confidently push back on unrealistic customer demands while maintaining strong working relationships
* Stay focused and composed in a team environment that can, at times, be emotionally charged
* Support junior members of the team with a calm, level-headed presence
Who We’re Looking For:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills – confident on the phone and in person
* Resilient, composed, and no-nonsense when dealing with pressure or drama
* Experience in the metal industry or with manufacturing customers is a major plus
* Previous experience in internal sales, account management, or customer service within a B2B environment
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Competent using CRM systems, order processing tools, and Microsoft Office
Working Pattern:
* Full-time, office-based for the first 6 months (or until fully trained and confident in the role)
* Hybrid working available thereafter - 2 days from home, 3 days in office
* Flexible start and finish times from 07:30 am - 15:30 pm // 09:30 am - 18:30 pm
