Job Description

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Academic Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Lewisham. This rewarding role focuses on supporting pupils who require additional help to reach their full potential through targeted group intervention work. As a key member of the Year 4 team, you will work closely with the class teacher to plan, deliver, and assess small group sessions aimed at boosting confidence and attainment among lower-ability pupils in core subjects such as English and Maths. Key Responsibilities Deliver structured intervention sessions to small groups of Year 4 pupils. Support pupils in developing key literacy and numeracy skills. Work collaboratively with the class teacher to monitor progress and adapt learning plans. Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages positive learning behaviours. Assist with general classroom support when required.Requirements Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2. A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Education Studies, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, proactive, and encouraging approach to supporting learning.
