Intervention Teaching Assistant - Year 1 - Tower Hamlets Primary School
Location: Tower Hamlets - East London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Term-time
Salary: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience)
A friendly and inclusive primary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to support targeted learning in Year 1 from September 2025. If you have a passion for early learning and a talent for boosting pupil progress, this could be the perfect role for you.
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will:
Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions in phonics, literacy and numeracy
Support pupils who need extra help to meet age-related expectations
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track and report progress
Encourage confidence and independence in young learners
Help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment
What we're looking for:
Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally in KS1
Familiarity with early phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle
A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach
Strong communication and teamworking skills
A proactive attitude to supporting learning and behaviour
