Job Description

NRL are proud to be supporting our client SeAH Wind on the recruitment of their Head of Projects to work in their new multi million pound constructed facory in Middlesbrough. SeAH Wind are manufacturing the largest XXXL monopiles globaly which will be used to support the global transition into cleaner renewable energy. We are supporting Seah in their search for their Inventory and Logistics Manager. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the logistics team for the safe and efficient transportation of materials and product around site and within the confines of the factory. Whilst performing the allocated tasks the Manager must meet applicable safety standards, targets, criteria, and deadlines to maximise productivity and profitability. What you’ll do on a day-to-day basis Development and implementation of transportation strategy to optimise the movement of materials and products around the site. Coordinate the movements of materials and product around site Manage the main raw steel inventory to allow timely production of monopiles Coordinates with Procurement on incoming deliveries from dockside to facility Coordinates with Project Team on planned shipments and key movements Controls supplier performance in relation to SPMTs (Self Propelled Modular Transport) Executes transportation cost estimates/budgets. Develops policies and procedures to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient movement of materials and products to meet customer requirements and enable continuous production. Overall management of the transportation team, overseeing and directing activity. Managing the logistics team for the safe and efficient transportation of materials and product around site and within the confines of the factory. Ensures that all procedures, documents and practices for the movement of materials and finished products are in compliance with health and safety requirements. Drives collaboration with logistics and production teams to find optimal solutions to ensure materials and products make the destination in a timely manner. Develops and maintains a strong tracking system for all material movements into / from / within area of operation. Liaise with other departments and sub-contractors to ensure they can support manufacturing in accordance with schedule requirements. Oversees a high volume of heavy and special transports, handling of heavy materials and supplies, loading and unloading, transportation, installation. Trains contractors on logistics, SOPs, compliance standards, and safety performance. Plan the best use of available space to ensure that material and products are stored correctly and efficiently. Identifying and resolving problems as they occur to prevent reoccurrences. Notifying and escalating any issues that undermine the core values of quality, safety and delivery. Ensure costs are monitored. What we need from you Previous experience of operating overhead gantry cranes, Folk Lift Trucks and SPMT’s. Minimum of A to C GCSE’s grades in English and Maths (or Equivalent). Appropriate licence or qualification in operating Fork-Lift Trucks, SPMT’s or other relevant mobile plant would be an advantage although training will be provided Prior management and leadership experience Experience of writing SOP’s and Procedures Extensive experience of transportation and logistics.
