As a key member of the Stock & Inventory Team, the successful candidate will support our Milton Keynes site to deliver the best in class for flexible manufacturing performance in accordance with business objectives and strategic plans.
The Inventory Controller will effectively utilise the weekly production plan to ensure the availability of raw materials for production and will provide support to the site and relevant other departments in relation to raw materials management.
As Inventory Controller your responsibilities will include;
* Ensure that raw materials are available for the site to enable continuous production operation without disruption.
* Provide and monitor timed delivery schedules for goods-in, chasing progress as necessary.
* Check and administer all delivery documentation onto the MRP system (JDE).
* Reviewing material shortage risks/issues against the production schedule, flagging to site and central stakeholders and working with suppliers and procurement to mitigate.
* Identify slow moving batches of stock which are at risk of reaching the Best Before End date (BBE) date and requesting additional production runs to avoid write offs.
* Participation in the monthly Raw Material Review meetings with Procurement to monitor shelf life and use up ingredients.
* Accountable for all stock approaching BBE dates, investigate and justify where necessary. Including follow up with external departments around stock rotation.
* Responsibility for ensuring all stock takes are completed within the required time frame, keeping the overdue counts to a minimum and ensuring compliance to Company Financial Standards.
* Support inbound inventory queries, ensuring swift resolution on all exceptions.
* Checking and ensuring materials are stored in the appropriate place and never overstocked.
* Implementing and/or improving new procedures and processes involving the Continuous Improvement department.
* Liaise with suppliers on quality problems relating to raw materials.
* Manage Stock Transfers from other production plants for internal consumption.
The successful candidate will have;
Numerate and educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent.
Good communications skills to all levels.
Great attention to detail, with a methodical and logical approach whilst observing rules and processes.
IT literate including Microsoft Word, Excel with a working knowledge of MRP systems.
Rational problem solver, good at analysing statistics and numerical data to reach appropriate conclusions.
Contributes to team cohesion and calls on others for help when needed.
Comfortable working with others and open in dealings with colleagues.
Motivated by challenging, quantifiable targets.
Ambitious and focused on delivering clearly defined objectives, drawing satisfaction from achieving their goals.
